Our Post is named for Manassas native son Robert Vincent McMaugh, a member of the Marine Security Guard (MSG) at the United States Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. He was manning Post 1 when the embassy was attacked on April 18, 1983. He lost his life along with 16 other Americans and dozens of Lebanese citizens when terrorists slammed a van loaded with 2,000 pounds of explosives into the embassy.

Our Post is home to not only The American Legion, but also The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 10, The Sons of The American Legion Squadron 10, and Legion Riders Chapter 10.

Together we offer many opportunities to support our troops and military veterans, be involved with our local community, and share a unique camaraderie born of our military service.

Remember that the freedoms we enjoy as Americans has been paid for by our veterans. Freedom is not free!
